We're Having A Baby!!!!!!!!!!

You read it right....I have tested about 10 times and every day the test gets darker and darker :-) Clomid worked on the 2nd try!!! We are so happy! We are very early in the pregnancy so we need all the prayers we can get!

We are due October 29th...a little pumpkin :-) Here is how I found out:

On Monday, February 14th (Valentine's Day!) I was 9DPO my boobs had been killing me all weekend. I also started breaking out. I knew it wasn't all in my head because I would forget about it and bump into my desk and I wanted to cry it hurt so bad. I got home from work and had a couple of cheap internet tests...I figured I would test, fully expecting it to be negative since I was SO EARLY! To my surprise there was a faint line!

I then went online and posted the picture on a couple of message boards and everyone said it was positive but to go get a First Response Early Result and a couple of digital tests. I ran to Target and while I was there I picked up a "Daddy's Lucky Charm" bib and a "I love grandma" bib. I figured since the first test was positive I had a pretty good change I was really pregnant! I got home and tried the FRER and there was a line but it was SO INCREDIBLY FAINT you could BARELY see it. I figured I would try again with first morning urine. I contemplated not telling Jake because I wanted to be completely sure...but I thought about it and he and I created this baby together so he had the right to know what I knew. Since it was Valentine's day it made it very easy to throw him off! We had celebrated Valentine's day on Sunday because we knew he had to work late on the actual day...so he wasn't expecting another gift. However, that morning he surprised me with ANOTHER present so I knew this would make him think I was just trying to top him ;-) I had previously bought some Notre Dame booties so I wrapped those up with the bib and a picture of the test and put it on the dining room table. I set the video camera up so it was hidden but I would be able to capture it all on film. He got home from work and I heard his truck idling outside. I started the video camera only to wait for 10 minutes because he was talking on his phone out in the truck. LONGEST TEN MINUTES OF MY LIFE!! Haha...anyway, he finally came inside STILL ON THE PHONE and I asked him to get off the phone and pay attention to me ;-). He told his brother he had to go since it was Valentine's Day and I immediately told him that I thought Cupid dropped off another gift for him in the dining room. He went on and on about how I was trying to top his gift and he already won. I agreed even though I was thinking that I knew I won by the gift I was about to give him!

So I finally got him to go to the dining room and he opened the gift and said "These booties won't fit me, and why did you get this bib?" He was thinking I was jumping the gun and buying stuff without knowing I was preggo until he saw the test and realized that he was going to be a daddy!! I will always remember that moment and the look on his face....oh and he cried ;-). Later that night my mom got home (we are still staying with her and my grandpa) and we gave her the bib and video taped her reaction as well. She kept saying "No way, no way...." she was completely shocked!

I won't bore you with the rest of the details but I will show you more tests that I have taken!

The last picture shows the progression from 10DPO am, 10DPO pm, and 12 DPO pm. Today is 12DPO and as soon as I peed on the stick I saw both lines!

I am feeling pretty crampy and my boobs are still sore but I am enjoying every minute of it because it means that little baby of mine is growing like a weed!!

Oh and today starts week 5 which means baby is now the size of an orange seed!

1DPO - What I am doing to help implantation

I have done a lot of research on things that help implantation in the two week wait...here is what I will be trying:

  1. Red Raspberry Leaf Tea - I have talked about this before...the leaves in a raspberry plant are amazing! I found this info on eco-chick.com: Red raspberry leaves contain significant amounts of calcium, vitamins C, A and E as well as the entire B-complex, magnesium, manganese, potassium, zinc and chromium. Famed herbalist Susun Weed recommends red raspberry leaf not just to strengthen the uterus and pelvic wall, but for its many beneficial effects, which include increased fertility, miscarriage and hemorrhage prevention, easing morning sickness, reducing pain during and after labor and birth, helping the uterus return more quickly to its pre-pregnancy size after birth and assisting in the production of plentiful breastmilk. Contrary to some misinformation found occasionally on the web, red raspberry leaf is not oxytocic or an emmenagogue – it will not start labor or promote contractions.
  2. Baby Aspirin - I already take this as well but it is believed to help with implantation
  3. B-6 vitamin
I have also heard about eating pineapple core days 1-5DPO. However, while it helps with implantation it also causes your uterus to contract which could cause a miscarriage. I already have a high risk of miscarriage because of my PCOS so I don't want to increase that rate.

Well...I can't believe I am really 1DPO....I ovulated!! I really hope it works this cycle but I am optomistic regardless because the Clomid is working!!!
